Stories
Some call it stories. Others call it a blog. But here you will find nuggets of goodness to use and -- you guessed it -- SHARE!
Happy Hannukah!
“Even in darkness it is possible to create light and encourage compassion. That it is possible to feel free inside a prison. That even in exile, friendship exists and can become an anchor. That one instant before dying, man is still immortal.” - Elie Wiesel
International Universal Health Coverage Day
“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhumane.” - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

There's still time to Shop for Good and provide the items local nonprofits need to help their program participants this holiday season.
A Girl Like Me Inc
The 100 Toys Christmas Giveaway is poised to have a significant impact on low-income families in several ways. Firstly, the provision of toys during the holiday season can bring joy and happiness to children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to receive gifts.
Preparing for Thanksgiving and Giving Tuesday!
“Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day.” – Robert Caspar Lintner
Woohoo! It’s November and we here at SHARE are getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families and we hope you are, too! But you know what’s just as good as coming together to enjoy a meal with friends and family? Coming together to support those who can’t.
Ramadan Kareem
“Ramadan is the month whose beginning is mercy, whose middle is forgiveness and whose end is freedom from fire.”
- Holy Prophet Muhammad
Ramadan Kareem, everyone! Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam’s Hijri calendar and this year, it stretches from March 22nd to April 21st according to the Gregorian calendar. Ramadan is commonly described as a month of introspection and prayer and observants celebrate by fasting (or, abstaining from food and drink) from sunup to sun down.
National Give Something Away Day
“No one has ever become poor by giving.” - Anne Frank
July 15th is National Give Something Away Day! There are several action points you can take on this day. SHARE Detroit’s four pillars of giving are: donating money, volunteering time, attending an event, and shopping for items from nonprofit wish lists.
We have so much great news to share from our nonprofit partners about their amazing work. But, we'd love to hear from you. Let us know if you have stories you'd like to tell and we'll make you a guest blogger!!
