Wayne State University and SHARE Detroit Empower Nonprofits Through Multiple Workshops
On January 24th, Wayne State University and SHARE Detroit teamed up to host an impactful nonprofit workshop, bringing together local organizations to gain valuable insights on essential business topics. Designed to support smaller nonprofits, the event featured interactive sessions on marketing, fundraising, finance/accounting, and technology, equipping more than 100 attendees with the tools they need to grow and sustain their missions.
A highlight of the event was the keynote address from Chris Lambert, CEO of Life Remodeled, who spoke passionately about the importance of mission statements, core values, organizational culture, and capacity assessments. His insights resonated deeply with attendees, inspiring them to take a strategic approach to nonprofit leadership.

Wayne State University Associate Professor Kevin Ketels and his students played a key role in the event, leading engaging workshops covering nonprofit marketing, fundraising strategies, financial management, and technology integration. These workshops provided practical takeaways that nonprofits could immediately implement.

In total, six Wayne State University students participated in leading the sessions, and supporting the event demonstrating the power of collaboration between academia and the nonprofit sector.
