International Homeless Animals Day

Every year since 1992, the third Saturday in August has been dedicated to homeless animals all around the world. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty towards Animals, 6.3 millions animals enter shelters each year. While that number is large, it is estimated that there are as many as 70 million homeless animals in the United States alone. No matter how much work is done, there is always more to do.

The organizations that do the important work of taking in, caring for, rehabilitating, fostering, and rehoming animals, because of the vastness of the problem, are always in need of support. SHARE is partnered with many great animal rescues and adoption centers, including,
