Some call it stories. Others call it a blog. But here you will find nuggets of goodness to use and -- you guessed it -- SHARE!

The Special Olympics of Michigan

As we celebrate the patriotic experience of the Summer Olympic Games, our team at SHARE Detroit found it fitting to highlight the wonderful work of the Special Olympics Michigan.  We are proud to have this nonprofit on our platform and are inspired by their reputation and commitment to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Mission Monday: Featuring Team Guts

Welcome to this week's Mission Monday!

For many, summer is a time when kids participate on teams and in sports camps that offer a chance for recreation and socializing. Just like neurotypical children, children with special needs also benefit from physical activities that builds strength and confidence. However, designed for individuals with special needs are often overlooked by sports and recreation departments and consequently, hard for many to access.

Mission Monday: Featuring Yad Ezra

WELCOME TO THIS WEEK'S MISSION MONDAY!

SHARE Detroit is happy to provide our community with the chance to learn more about Yad Ezra, an organization with a compelling mission. We are honored to have Yad Ezra on our platform. In Hebrew the words “Yad Ezra” means “helping hand” and since opening its doors in 1990, they have stayed true to their name and become a valued resource in the Jewish Community.

Mission Monday: Featuring Kevin's Song

Welcome to this week's Mission Monday!

May was dedicated to Mental Health Awareness, we are proud to promote another wonderful organization that addresses this important topic.  Kevin’s Song is a newer member of our SHARE Detroit family and the impact of their work in the community is one that many are familiar with and have benefitted from.

Mission Monday: Featuring KnowResolve

Featuring: Know Resolve!

Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the month of May since 1949.  This initiative has helped educate the public on the variety of mental illnesses that affect nearly 20% of Americans. Over the years, the intention of this month has grown to educate and break down the stigma associated with these types of illnesses and promote activities and habits that support our mental health.

Happy Mother's Day!

At SHARE Detroit, we strive to promote nonprofits, individuals, mission or events that promotes positivity with a lasting impact.  Many would agree that the attributes of all mothers and the influence of a maternal spirit do just that.   In recognition of Mother’s Day, we contacted three nonprofit organizations in our SHARE Detroit network whose missions provide resources and programs for families to ensure they have the tools necessary to succeed as individuals and in their roles as parents and caregivers.
